Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French Bread
  • 1 cup goat cheese*
  • 1 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp culinary lavender

Instructions

For the lavender honey:

  • On the stove top, heat the honey over low heat.
  • Add the culinary lavender to the honey.
  • Let the honey and lavender cook for 10 minutes on low. Do not boil. Boiling will cause the honey to crystallize and thicken.
  • Remove from the heat and pour over a mesh sleeve to separate the lavender from the honey.
  • Serve warm if desired (use caution). Or allow to cool.

To finish:

  • Slice the French bread into thick slices.
  • Spread the goat cheese* onto the bread in a thick layer.
  • Drizzle with plenty of honey.
  • Serve.

Notes

*There are many  types of goat cheese. I highly recommend finding a spreadable goat cheese for this recipe. If you use a harder cheese, it may not taste as heavenly!
