About

Welcome to Book Club Bites!

I’m Mallory Barnes, a fiction writer living in West Texas. I’m so glad you found this site!

I love good food and I love good books, so I started Book Club Bites as a way to share both with book clubs and readers. Creating recipes inspired by my favorite books continues the life of the story so that even when the last page is turned, I can still revel in that warm feeling a great novel leaves behind. I’m also happy to share discussion questions you can use for your book club meetings so that it takes a little of the hassle off of your shoulders.

I’d love to hear from you! Are you actively involved in a book club or a reader who’s just searching for a little extra? What are your favorite books? Is there one book that has changed your life? Books have a way of doing that.

As the blog has grown, I also realized my desire to write about the creative life, including its beauty and trials. Being creative is something that is often stifled in our lives. Between family, household chores, and work, it’s easy to overlook that outlet that sparks excitement, creativity, and joy in you, whatever it may be!

A little more about me before I go. I graduated college with degree in finance. My day job requires a lot of data organization, so story structure is a reprieve for me (hint: MY creative outlet). I live in a college town with my football-obsessed husband and two outdoors-loving sons, who keep me honest and laughing.

I am a child of God and constantly amazed by the daily grace He offers me.
